Mozilla have teamed up with both Alcatel and ZTE to bring the first two Firefox OS smartphones to Mobile World Conference. While these aren’t for commercial release just yet, the ZTE Open and the Alcatel One Touch Fire are definitely going to create some buzz on the MWC 2013 trade show floor.
While details on both Firefox OS handsets are scarce it appears that the ZTE Open runs a Cortex A5 processor and a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen display, while the Alcatel One Touch Fire also has a 3.5-inch screen while running a 1GHz processor. When we see the full spec’s we’d expect to see them along similar lines of mid-range Android handsets from a couple of years ago.
Mozilla have also used MWC to announce that both LG and Huawei will be joining the Firefox OS project as hardware partners, producing handsets to be released later in the year.
