As Mobile World Congress draws to a close, Sony adds its name to the list of manufacturers backing the Mozilla Firefox OS project. Sony have not only jumped on board with the Firefox OS project, adding to the list that already included Alcatel, ZTE, LG and Huawei (See our article here), but they have also made a Firefox OS ROM available to anyone who has a Sony Xperia E handset (well an early experimental version at least).
Sony in conjunction with Mozilla and Telefonica have made the early developer version of Firefox OS available to Xperia E owners to help Sony and developers to evaluate the Firefox OS platform and develop applications. This is a slightly different approach to Alcatel and ZTE who demoed new modified versions of phones with Firefox OS. For more information about the Mozilla Firefox OS project and Firefox OS ROM for the Sony Xperia E check out the Sony Website - http://developer.sonymobile.com/2013/02/27/experimental-firefox-os-software-for-xperia-e-available-for-developers-rom/ or the video below.
